International Pewter is a subdivision of the International Silver Company, which was the result of the uniting, in 1898. At the outset, it held among its assets several pewter firms, including Meriden’s Puritan Pewter, Derby’s INSICO Pewter, and Meriden’s Pewter by Wilcox.
The mid-to-late 1920s and 1930s witnessed a Colonial Revival—a significant jump in the production of pewter wares in the style of the American Colonial period as well as reproductions of the wares of those masters who were active in those days. This practice continued to a lesser extent for the next several decades.

The International Silver Company and its pewter wing went out of business in 1983. After that, it was reconstituted as International Silver, Ltd.*worthpoint.com
